Beautiful Wire Gold from Liberty, Washington - Lot 40

There is nothing quite like the wire gold from the Liberty, Washington, Swauk Mining District. The region has a large calcite deposit in which these gold wires formed and created some truly fascinating gold crystals. The Smithsonian Museum in DC has several pieces of gold from this location in their collection. The best gold wires are very hard to source these days and I was fortunate to find a small handful from a prospector who has been mining the region for several decades.
