This is the largest gold specimen I have ever had from the famous 16 to 1 Gold Mine and it is an absolutely beautiful piece of gold. The gold is a bright buttery yellow gold with deep crevasses and intricate layering. The entire piece is crystalline gold with about 10 grams of white quartz scattered in and around the center. The 16 to 1 Gold Mine is closed permanently and this gold specimen has historical significance and is considered museum grade for the size, caliber of the gold and the provenance from the historic gold mine in the Alleghany District of California.
