A very intricate shape, crusty texture and brilliant color. This gold nugget was recently acquired from an "old timer" prospector in Alaska and was found in the Denali National Park. Mining has been banned in most of Denali National Park and this gold nugget was found in the early 1980's in the Caribou Creek area of the park. It's a wonderful piece from a rare location. When these are gone, they're gone and I doubt I'll see anything from this area again.
