A magnificent long leaf gold crystal from Mariposa County. The surface is absolutely stunning with precision and detail. One side has sharp and faceted trigon crystals that cluster together and the other side has a crisscross waffle pattern that creates a long spine up the back. A magnificent piece of gold from California. I was able to purchase this piece as well as a small handful of others from an undisclosed small mine in Mariposa. California. The pieces resemble those found at Round Mountain in Nevada, but it is in fact from Mariposa. There is a few small inclusions of white quartz that show how the crystal grew on the wall of the pocket deep inside the mine.
