I had to negotiate a bit for this piece but I wasn't leaving without it. It is one of the finest gold specimens I've seen from the Olinghouse mine in Nevada. The mine is known for producing some fantastic wire gold specimens and this is one of the best. It has a nest of long plates and wires intricately twined together on the top half of the specimen and looks like something you'd only see from Superman's Cave. An absolutely stunning piece of natural gold from one of my favorite mine's. I have spoken with the owner of the Olinghouse Mine and he hopes to reopen the mine someday soon as there are many more treasures that await. The mine has been closed for nearly twenty years and has been plagued by fruitless lawsuits and litigation that have kept it closed and unprofitable as a gold mine. Most of this bad news is behind the mine and in the past and they hope to have it reopened in the next few years.
