A new location in Nevada. The Fire Creek Gold Mine has only been mined for about four years. Gold was discovered earlier than four years ago but the first attempts to open a successful mine have been held up for decades. The majority of the gold being found is in ore and it is a rich find with about one ounce of gold per ton of ore. The miners did discover a few small pockets in the mine and some fantastic gold crystals were found, but not many. This is only one of two pieces I have from the mine and in my opinion, this one is the best. The crystals on this specimen are fascinating and it has delicate leaves of dendritic crystalized gold in a cluster. The quartz is a wonderful two tone grey that transitions into white quartz on the gold cluster. To protect the delicate gold, the specimen has been mounted to a glass display stand.
