A very faceted natural gold crystal from the historic gold rush that took place on Mt. Kare Papua New Guinea. The gold rush happened when a group of surveyors discovered gold while digging a toilet hole at their campsite. They tried to keep the discovery a secret but within months, thousands of would be prospectors flocked to the mountain to claim their fortune. The gold rush lasted for six years from 1988 to 1994 and an estimated one million ounces was recovered.
