A brilliant example of the fine gold crystals that came from Mt. Kare, Papua New Guinea. The gold rush lasted for only six years from 1988 to 1994 and during that time, almost 10,000 people flocked to the mountain to stake their claim. It is estimated that around a million ounces were recovered, most of which was melted down.
