One of two ribbon gold specimens I have from the unique location of Sonora, Mexico. These pieces were found in the same region as the famous Boot of Cortez. This gold specimen is two ribbons of gold that are pressed and elongated side by side. It's fascinated at how these structures form into such intricate gold as a very malleable precious metal, gold can be pressed to be incredibly thin and is certainly the case on this gold specimen as these ribbons have been naturally pressed by the elements.
