A nice little gold in quartz specimen from the Harvard Open Pit Mine, which is now closed, making this specimen a bit more rare. The collection I have from the Harvard Mine were found by a good friend of mine who was hired to detect gold along the walls of the mine in a canoe while the mine was flooding by natural causes. He did this for many months and as the water level continued to rise, he would detect higher up on the walls. Eventually the mine was completely flooded and there won't be anymore Harvard Mine gold. This specimen reminds me of an Iguana sitting perched on a rock. A beautiful buttery leave gold. The total weight of this specimen (quartz and beautiful leaf gold) is 5.14 grams (79.4 grains) and the total height is 1" (26mm). This would look great in any collection or would also make a terrific gift. This beautiful gold in quartz specimen comes with a certificate of authenticity.
