A brilliant yellow gold cluster in brilliant white quartz from the G.G. Mine located in the mother load of northern California. This mine, along with so many others in California have been shut down for one reason or another, most due to tight environmental restrictions. Gold in quartz specimens from California are increasingly hard to source as very few are being found now. The only hard rock mine in California that is still open and producing is the Colorado Quartz Mine in Mariposa County, California. I have met with the miners from that location and they are having a difficult time keeping the mine open and not finding much new gold.
Weight: 5.6 grams (251.10 grains)
