If you're familiar with the Olinghouse Mine in Nevada, you know they discover some fascinating and remarkable gold specimens. The majority of what I see from the mine are wire gold specimens. This gold in quartz specimen is more rare and unique in that there is no wire gold at all, but two large clusters of very well defined Octahedron and trigon gold crystals. It's a fantastic piece when you understand the mine, it's history and the rarity of this particular piece. Take a look at the close-up photos and notice the quartz is even a bit crystalized near the gold clusters.
