From the Harvard Open Pit Mine in California comes this brilliant gold in quartz specimen. Shiny leaf gold on top of beautiful quartz and the a shape reminds me of a dragon perched on a cliff. This is a smaller specimen and the height of the entire specimen - quartz and beautiful natural gold is 7/8" in height. The Harvard Mine is now closed and no more gold is being produced there. It was flooded by the natural elements years ago. This specimen, along with a handful of others I have there, were detected by a good friend of mine who was aloud to mine the walls of the mine in a canoe as the water level rose over a period of months.
Weight: 2.90 grams (44.6 grains)
Dimensions: 7/8" by 5/8" or 22mm by 17mm.
