A beautiful gold in quartz specimen from the famous Round Mountain Gold Mine in Nye County, Nevada. The quartz is very rare in that it is crystalized. To see this along with crystalized gold is very uncommon - add to that the caliber of the gold crystals on this specimen and you have a museum grade and very prestigious gold specimen. Gold forms in quartz through geothermal venting in cracks under the earth's surface, similar to how calcite attaches to the water pipes in a house after a long period, the quartz attaches itself to granite in the same long and slow process in the earth. Gold and other mineral are forced up as well and under unique circumstances, will crystalize. This example has showcased that with the grey rock, crystalized quartz, and gold which grew from the quartz. I consider this one of the best in my inventory and is a true treasure when you understand the process in which it formed. To better preserve and display this specimen, it has been attached to a plexiglass base which can be removed and I am happy to do this if the new owner of this piece elects to do so.

There is gold and then there is GOLD! Not all gold was created equal. At GoldNuggetsForSale.com we spend most of our time seeking out the world’s finest gold nuggets and gold specimens.
-Only about 2% of the gold in the world is in “gold nugget” form and the other 98% is microscopic speck and flake gold found in ore. A good gold ore today will have about one ounce of gold for every two tons of rock.
Even rarer are crystallized gold specimens and only about 0.04% of the gold in the world is crystallized. These natural gold nuggets and gold specimens are true - one of a kind - masterpieces from the earth’s natural elements and are found mostly in pockets where the gold was able to crystallize while it formed, much the same way other crystals form deep inside the earth.
Most of the hard rock mines that uncovered these extremely rare gold nugget crystals are closed today and it is extremely rare to have a new discovery of crystallized gold nuggets or gold specimens.
At Goldnuggetsforsale.com, we are experts on natural gold nuggets and gold specimens and guarantee all our gold nuggets and gold specimens are natural and not man-made.
