One man and a backhoe are what makes up the modern day Willow Creek Mine. The Mine has officially been closed for decades and remains in a family estate. The grandson has been using his backhoe on the hillside of the mine to hunt for gold. He has had some good success and some notable specimens have been found. This one is quite unique with a very crusty crystalline gold. the shape has a tapered point and although the camera doesn't show it, it has a large crest or "wave" to the formation. A beautiful one of a kind from Nevada. Please note, I have mounted this specimen to a plexiglass base to better protect and display it.
