Cripple Creek, Colorado - Roasted Gold Specimen

 Sold Out
Historically, smelting and roasting of gold ores has been used to capture the gold from difficult to treat ores. The gold is heated to high temperatures to extract the gold. The old-timer's used this method quite often but it isn't used much today. This is a historic piece from the Colorado gold rush but I don't know when it was first discovered or roasted. I estimate it has about 2-3 grams of gold in the specimen.
